Dancing Queen

Amelia's first dance recital was Saturday. The pictures that were taken turned out quite blurry, and for whatever reason I've been unable to get the video of her performance to upload to the blog. So I guess we'll settle for a cute picture of her at dance practice for now.

I was concerned about how she would do. On the way to the community center I said, "Are you going to have fun dancing today?" She kept saying, "I just NOT going to dance today." Once we got there though and she saw all of her friends, she just took off with them.

At 1:00 we were all allowed to go in and sit down (they kept everyone out of the hall while the kids were practicing). We watched a few other performances first, then it was time for the little ballet dancers. It was so cute when they all trotted down the aisle to the front of the room, some holding hands, all of them waving at their parents. Amelia brought up the rear of course because she was so busy looking around at everyone and cheesing it up. She was so cute doing her dance, just off in her own little world. She is the youngest in the class and you can tell because her movements are still a little jerky compared to the older kids, but she did so well. She had such a good time. I really wish I could get the stupid video to load up because I laugh every time I watch it. My baby girl is growing up. *sigh*
