Thomas is doing well. He's starting to sleep better. He stays awake for a few hours each morning and a few in the afternoon. He is often very awake in the evening. Last night I was actually able to get him to bed at 9:00 which is quite good for him. He is starting to sleep for a 4 hour stretch when he first goes to bed which is wonderful. Unfortunately, after he wakes up for his first feeding, he's back to his every two hour routine for the remainder of the night. But what a nice change to at least get 4 straight hours of sleep at one time!
Unfortunately, I have been having some trouble with his eating. I've been gradually giving him a bottle or two during the day to try and get him used to taking one, since he'll be going to daycare next week. He's adapting well to the bottle. He is NOT adapting to the taste of formula. He completely hates it. Every time I tried to give him a bottle with just formula he immediately spit it out. The only way I have been able to get him to even take a drink of it is to mix it with some breast milk. Hopefully he will adapt and we won't have problems with it when he is in daycare. He has also been having trouble with a lot of spitting up, including some projectile vomiting. I had to take him for an ultrasound yesterday to see if he had a condition called pyloric stenosis. I just heard back from the doctor and he does NOT have pyloric stenosis, which is great because that means no surgery. Now, just waiting to hear back as to what they think it might be that is causing him to have this problem. He was a pain during pregnancy, and now a pain in infancy--but he's so worth it.
Amen to that!
